1. 2. 3.  The Special Board Meeting of June 19, 2013 was called to order by Supervisor Kupar at 6:00 p.m., at the picnic table, by the parking lot, at Corron Farm.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  Clerk Johansen called the roll with Supervisor Kupar and Trustees Stutesman, Vandiver, Murphy, and VanZandt present.

4.New Business:

     a. Discuss Campton Township Open Space Program: It was stated everyone needs to be a cheerleader for the Open Space Program.  We need to have open space brochures at social events, a website, and a database of e-mail addresses.  Let’s get the public involved and aware of what we want to accomplish.  We need Open Space staff to prioritize a list of what can be accomplished with the funds available.  We can go to other events in the Township, talk up the Open Space Program, and leave brochures about it.  There are 12 scouts waiting to get involved in the Open Space Program.  Each Board member can adopt an Open Space site so that we can develop events for each site.  Some of us can go to Homeowners Associations (HOA) to post information about Open Space on their sites.  The staff needs more attention from the Board.  Staff takes care of 1100 acres and our unpaid volunteer coordinator takes care of volunteers.

Action Items:

Vicki – Contact Boy Scout leaders and science teachers about a tailgate party to the Headwaters.  Get e-mail addresses from the parents.

Jack Shouba – Lead 3 grade schools, 2 middle schools to Corron, Gray Willows, and the Headwaters.

Open Space staff – Make a list of priorities, short, medium, long term, keeping cost in mind.

Elizabeth – Do not look at refinancing the existing bond issue.  That’s kicking the can down the road.

Board – Everyone visit all of our sites, become informed, and come up with ideas to involve the public.

Jack Shouba again – We can apply for a $400,000 grant that we would have to match if we are awarded it.  The grant requires a master land plan be prepared.  We have only one site that fits with this well and that is Gray Willows.  It fits because of the variability of the Gray Willows site.  The cost of the land plan would be about $20,000.

John Kupar – I have a friend that may be able to donate the land planning for free.  I will look into it.

5. Adjournment: T. Stutesman moved the Board adjourn the meeting.  V. Vandiver seconded the motion.  In a voice vote Supervisor Kupar and Trustees Stutesman, Vandiver, Murphy, and VanZandt voted aye.  The motion passed and the meeting adjourned.
