CAMPTON TOWNSHIP
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ORGANIZATION
AND INCORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF LA FOX
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the TOWN OF CAMPTON is an Illinois Township established and existing as a body politic and corporate under the laws of the State of Illinois and governed pursuant to the provisions of the Illinois Township code, 60 ILLS 1/1-1 et seq.; and
WHEREAS, the residents of the unincorporated LaFox, in the County of Kane, State of Illinois, wish to organize and incorporate as a body politic and corporate and to be governed by the provisions of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 512-1-1 et seq; and
WHEREAS, the residents and electors of the unincorporated area of La Fox which is bounded by Route 38, on the north; Harley Road, on the west; Keslinger Road, on the south and Geneva Township line/St. Charles city limits on the east and consisting of a total area of approximately four square miles, are collectively seeking to organize for the purposes of incorporating said territory under the laws of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the proposed corporate boundaries of La Fox are located partially within Blackberry Township and partially within Campton Township and is in proximity to the towns of St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Elburn and Lily Lake; and
WHEREAS, the proposed corporate boundaries of La Fox currently contain existing school districts, namely Kaneland School District No.302, St. Charles School District No.303 and Geneva School District No.304; and
WHEREAS, the residents and electors of the La Fox area are desirous of soliciting and securing the support of the Town of Campton; and
WHEREAS, the residents and electors of La Fox are undertaking certain efforts to satisfy the legal and statutory prerequisites in order to become incorporated as a city under the laws of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Campton finds it reasonable and appropriate to cooperate with the residents and electors of La Fox to support their efforts to organize and incorporate the Village of La Fox in accordance with the laws of the State of Il1inois; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Campton as follows:
Section 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
Section 2. It is hereby a declaration by the Town of Campton that it supports the incorporation of La Fox as a municipal corporation in accordance with the provisions of the Illinois Municipal Code.
Section 3. A copy of this resolution shall be made part of the public records of the Town of Campton and certified copy of same shall be provided to the representatives or the proposed incorporators of the Village of La Fox.
Section 4. Upon its execution, the Town Clerk is directed to transmit certified copies of this Resolution to the State of Illinois, the County of Kane, Blackberry Township. City of St. Charles, the City of Geneva, the Village of Elburn, the City of Batavia, Lily Lake, Kaneland School District No.302, St. Charles School District No.303 and Geneva School District No.304.
