Meet the
Highway Commissioner

Sam Gallucci was first elected Campton Township Highway Commissioner in 2001; he was just re-elected to his sixth term in 2021. His background includes law-enforcement, business management, and secondary education.

As Campton Township Highway Commissioner, his tenure's overall achievements include the first-ever computerization of the Highway District Office, the resurfacing of over 80 miles of Township road, the replacement of over 700 street signs, and the replacement of over 160 non-functioning culverts at no expense to homeowners. The Campton Township Highway District has also taken over the responsibility for an additional 36 miles of roadway during Commissioner Gallucci's tenure.

He brings to his office an extensive background in a range of work environments. After graduating from Northeastern Illinois State University with a Bachelor Degree in Political Science, he went into law-enforcement, spending the next 18 years in various police positions for several police departments, including Evanston PD, Naperville PD, Kendall County Sheriff's Department and the Plano Police Department.

His experience includes patrol officer, evidence technician (crime scene investigations), Detective, Sergeant, Deputy Chief of Police, and Chief of Police of the City of Plano, Illinois.

Commissioner Gallucci owned his own business in St. Charles, Illinois for 19 years. He was president of the Wasco Baseball League for over 15 years (with over 2000 area youth participating in summer and fall baseball), and has been a varsity high school baseball coach for Hinckley-Big Rock HS and Genoa-Kingston HS. For the past 3 years he was head varsity baseball coach at Fenton High School in Bensenville, Illinois and is currently the head varsity baseball coach at Dixon High School, Dixon Illinois.

Commissioner Gallucci is an active volunteer in Campton's community and has served on several Township committees over the past 13 years, including the Parks and Recreation Committee that helped develop the Community Park on Brown Road. In 2003, in recognition of his service to the Wasco Baseball League, had the baseball field at the Community Center dedicated to him. He currently serves on the Environmental Committee for Campton Township.

Commissioner Gallucci resides with his wife in Campton Township, being a member of the community since 1986 and Highway Commissioner since 2001.
